I think this is a scary proposition for most leaders and it requires a great deal of trust in human nature. Not simply trusting the people you know and work with, but a real commitment to believing that at their core most people are good and want to do well.
I believe that when power is released it is unleashed–and that’s a good thing! As a leader, I want everyone I work with to discover their strengths and build their skills so that we will ALL succeed. And, as an added benefit, when we do something we’re good at, and are given rein to grow, we can challenge ourselves in ways a single leader would never even think of…excellence comes from a passionate purpose blended with ever-developing skills and space to risk, fail, and learn.
